June 20, 2009

This past weekend we trekked out to St. Louis to witness one of my college friends tie the knot. Not only did we have a blast, but I also was able to catch a few pictures for practice. :)

These guys were cracking me up all night

But definitely so happy to start their lives together

You could tell her dad got a little choked up at one point

And then they got the party started with a little karaoke

New Lenses!

I got a new set of lenses today! It's actually just a convertor lens (you attach it to your regular lens), but I'm still just as excited. (I can't justify a several hundred dollar purchase of a secondary lens quite yet, so I had to settle for the cheaper version...)

It's actually a two-in-one lens -- it's a 0.42x wide angle and a macro (you just screw off the wide angle portion and ta-da there's a macro lens).

Of course, since I was off today, I jumped at the opportunity to walk around the neighborhood and grab a couple shots with my new gadgets...

So I guess you get what you pay for... a lot of my shots were pretty blurry, and it seemed like my camera had a hard time focusing with extra lens on. We'll see how some shots with people in them turn out this weekend.

Hi there!

So I'm pretty new to photography -- it's been growing as a hobby of mine over the past couple years. I finally decided to put together a blog of some of my favorite shots. Enjoy!

I already have a food blog which has some of my food photography on it, and I'm pretty sure that's where that stuff will stay; hopefully I'll get opportunites to get a little more interesting subject material!
